How Long We Keep Your Data

In line with the Dental Council of Ireland’s Code of Practice, we retain your records as follows:

  • Adults: 8 years after the date of your last treatment.

  • Children/Young Adults: Until your 25th birthday, or 26th if you were 17 at the time of your last treatment.

  • Deceased Minors: 8 years from the date of death if under 18.

After these periods, your data will be securely destroyed unless required for lawful purposes.

What We Do With Your Data

Your personal data is processed only by our staff in Ireland and used for:

  • Delivering dental treatment;

  • Sending appointment reminders (via SMS, email, or post);

  • Managing referrals and payments under public health schemes.

Data May Be Shared With:
  • Dept. of Social Protection (for PRSI patients)

  • HSE Primary Care Reimbursement Service (for Medical Card patients)

  • Invistech Ltd. (our IT provider)

  • Software of Excellence UK (practice management software)

  • Specialists or laboratories (if required for your care)

We may also share data if legally required to do so. Where data is stored or backed up remotely, it is kept on servers located within the EU. If data transfer outside the EU is required, we will take all appropriate safeguards to protect your information.

Your Rights

You have the following rights under data protection law:

  • To access a copy of your personal data;

  • To request correction of inaccurate information;

  • To request deletion or restriction of your data (where legally permitted);

  • To withdraw previously given consent (if applicable).

Requests will be handled promptly and respectfully.
